“Rob & Ali “started their professional music career thirty three years ago, performing in their self formed five piece band with Ali as the lead singer and Roberto on drums and vocals. Their performances with the band, spanning eight years, took them to all major hotel venues in and around South Africa, including; Holiday Inn, Southern Sun, Sun international, Gold Reef City. Nightclubs, including Q’s Supper Club, Bella Napoli, Club Med etc.

Rob & Ali formed their duo with outstanding results, Ali on vocals & Rob on vocals & keyboard, performing for corporate functions as a duo or solo cabaret act for companies including; Goodyear, Bell, Virgin, Pfizer, Ford, Volkswagen, Spar, Daimler, SAA, ICC, Siemens, Sasol, SANBS, Re-max, Murry & Roberts, RCI, Harvey Travel, to name a few.

In terms of repertoire, they cover some of the best-known classics from the 50’s to the best hits of modern day. While the Duo’s style could most generally be described as pop/rock, Rob & Ali enjoy being able to select the songs which are most appropriate for a particular venue, from soft  music to 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, disco, rock, country, Afrikaans, African  or just out-and-out party sets. Their vast repertoire allows them to cater for any age group, performed with good sound and strong energy.

In most cases they tend to find that a real mixture of these styles is best received. Between sets and at the end of the night, they ensure that the atmosphere is maintained with gentle background music or pumping disco as appropriate.
